Row of chairs at the Knoxville Airport, July 2004. I was waiting for a delayed flight and decided to see if I could find something photo-worthy. This won Best Of Show at the Tennessee Valley Fair that year (first place in the Abstract category). Most people (I'd guess 90%) think that it's a car mirror, but when I tell them that it's a row of chairs they say "of course!"
Middle Prong River in the Great Smoky Mountain NP at sunset, April 20, 2007. The golden sheen of the water is a reflection of a sunlit hill above the frame of the photo. Possibly my favorite photo ever.
Two greyhounds, Beth Anne and Specs taken in 2013. We had 5-6 families and anywhere from 6-9 dogs get together once a month to socialize and run. Beth Ann (red muzzle) was one of two females in the group. The rest were all boys but it was Specs that won her heart. Puppy Love.
Elkmont Troll Bridge taken in October 2018 Great Smokey National Park. It was pouring down rain. Had to balance holding the umbrella over me and the camera, while continually having to adjust the plastic covering on the long lens. Difficult shoot to say the least, but i was happy with the results.
Black and White Photo is of my daughter in 1969. Scanned Tri-X negative shot with Can FT-QL.
Bird is a Summer Tanager taken in Beaman Park during my intense immersion in avian photography in 2009. Shot with Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 200-400 with 1.4X extender (550mm).

This is an image of Ferry Lewis at the first Beale Street
Blues Festival in 1977. I was young and could hand hold and focus a
telephoto lens in near darkness. Joni Mitchell later made a recording
of a song written about Ferry called Ferry Sings the Blues.
This image is of a father and his son wearing a raincoat
leaving a seed store on Front Street Memphis, Tennessee made in the
60's. A version of it was published in Black and White Magazine.
This image is of a man standing outside a store somewhere in
the Sierra Madre Mountains in Northern Mexico around 1967.
