The Brentwood Photography Group meets at Otter Creek Church in Brentwood on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Networking and the Photo of the Month competition begin at 6:00 PM, with the main program starting at 6:30 PM.

Our monthly meetings bring photographers together to learn, connect, and be inspired. Each meeting features a guest speaker who shares insights, techniques, and real-world experience across a wide range of photographic styles.

Megan Veldman is a Nashville-based sports and event photographer with over five years of experience photographing high school, collegiate, and professional sports. Her work includes coverage of a wide range of sports, and her images have been featured by Major League Soccer, the National Hockey League, Nashville SC, and Belmont University Athletics.

In this presentation, Megan will discuss photographing professional sports, including her experience covering the Nashville Predators, and share practical insights into general sports photography techniques that apply across different levels and sports.

Tom Ress; Bird Photography from Wheeler Wildlife Refuge

April 7th

We’ll take a look at Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge and the birds and other wildlife as well as best locations to photograph and give a brief look at other productive birding and photo spots in north Alabama.  We’ll look at photos from other destinations around the world to give a little variety.

Tom Ress is a volunteer naturalist and birding guide at Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge and serves as Vice President of the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge Association. An accomplished photographer and writer, he is the author of Images of America: Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge and a frequent speaker on wildlife and travel. He has visited all seven continents, photographing birds and wildlife around the world.
