Gale Stoner

Gale Stoner Photo

Gale Stoner photographs people, places and things.  He began photographing landscapes in the mid-sixties while stationed in Duluth, MN.  After a successful 21-year career in the Air Force and then as a professional speaker for the past two decades, Gale returned to his love of photography.

Although he spends most of his time shooting the beauty of God’s creation, he enjoys capturing a variety of subjects.  “I like to photograph subjects that are personally interesting to me, and there is added enjoyment when my image brings pleasure and delight to others.”

Gale, a resident of middle Tennessee since 1986, found an appreciation of the rural landscapes.  “Farmland, forests, waterfalls, and mountains provide an opportunity to nurture the vision I see in nature.”

Gale’s work has been highlighted in the international publication, Photoshop User magazine, KelbyOne Insider Column, and his image of Old Faithful at sunrise was published in Outdoor Photographer magazine.  One of Gale’s images was selected for the cover of the 2019 Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Visitors Bureau guide booklet.  Gale has served as the 2018-2019 Photographer Laureate for the City of Murfreesboro Cultural Arts Department.

On a personal note, Gale is a two-time cancer survivor.  “I believe this personal challenge has helped me be more sensitive to the beauty in people and the world we live in.  I try to capture that beauty in the images I capture.”
