Making Art From the Eclectic

May 12, 2019  |  9a – 4p

There is nothing more rewarding than to create art from the common, everyday things most people pass by. Cornice details, doorknobs, old stairways, light and shadows and so much more. Walk the streets of Nashville with Jeff Johnson and capture the eclectic of the city and make some amazing and unique fine art imagery.

Jeff Johnson, a 40-year photographic veteran, will inspire you with how he looks for and creates his unique style of fine art photography. He’ll take you from the start of an image idea by sharing his philosophy of image creation with pre-visualization, composition, and equipment choices right through determining exposure, depth-of-field and focus selection. He will share his years of experience and ideas on image creation right on the street! Jeff will also share with you many great ideas for stunning finished presentations. So, prepare to be amazed and inspired . . . or at least entertained!

Jeff will share with you an overall view of his creative process he has developed over the last 40 years of his career including these topics:

  • Inspiration
  • Image pre-visualization
  • Equipment
  • Composition
  • Exposure
  • Depth-of-field

This will be a day of hands-on photography right on the streets of Nashville. Bring your favorite camera, lens or two, good walking shoes and an open-mind and your imagination as he helps you re-discover the eclectic of downtown and the charm of Nashville.

We’ll meet at Zolli Koffee, 701 8th Avenue South, at 8am for coffee and conversation about how the day will transpire. We’ll hit the streets and chat, discover and create. Lunch break (on your own) and then resume the image creation all afternoon. Workshop ends at 4pm.

All of this great experience and knowledge from Jeff and an opportunity to recharge your creative spirit for just $90 for members of the Brentwood Photography Group ($100 for non-members).
