“A Day in the Life of a Photography Juror”
Breaking from the traditional mini-clinic format, the June Mini-Clinic will feature a more hands-on format with an activity guided by Sue Henry. Attendees should come prepared to participate in an exercise experiencing the challenges of serving as a photography juror. Small groups will be formed to complete the scenario of acting as jurors for a photography exhibit.
If possible, participants should bring a fully charged lap-top computer to assure we have enough lap-tops to successfully carry out the activity. We anticipate needing approximately 12 to 14 lap-tops . Other necessary materials will be provided by Sue Henry.
At this event, we’ll discuss the challenges of serving as a juror. We’ll experience the process of working with other jurors who may or may not agree with you regarding what images you deem worthy of selecting. We’ll view and discuss a variety of photographic genres. And we’ll discover how personal and unique artistic aesthetics, standards, and expectations ‘color’ individual judgement.
This promises to be a fast paced, FUN evening generating lots of interesting discussion! We hope you’ll join us.
